"Mikrotīkls" doctoral scholarship in the field of exact and medical sciences
The scholarship has been established in support of outstanding University of Latvia (UL) first-year doctoral students in 2017 by the patron "Mikrotīkls". Its goal is to promote excellence at the UL and to advance growth and research opportunities of the most talented young doctoral students.
The scholarship is intended for doctoral students in the field of exact and medical sciences from the UL Faculty of Biology, Faculty of Physics, Mathematics and Optometry, Faculty of Computing, Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Chemistry. Upon successful fulfilment of all conditions, the scholarship is granted for three years for the development of a doctoral thesis of superior quality.
Number of scholarships: 5.
Scholarship amount: EUR 12 000 per academic year (EUR 1 000 per month).

Within a single academic year, the applicant may receive only one scholarship financed by the patrons of the University of Latvia Foundation.

In the 2018/2019 academic year – Kārlis Pleiko, Didzis Berenis, Andris Pāvils Stikuts, Linards Kļaviņš and Mārtiņš Kālis.
In the 2017/2018 academic year – Ilze Elbere, Inga Jonāne, Mārcis Sējējs, Karīna Narbute, Poļina Zaļizko and Elīna Černooka.
