The initiative of the University of Latvia Foundation in 2019 marked the 175th anniversary of Kristaps Morbergs, the grand patron of the University of Latvia, with a remarkable publication – a patronage reference book "Filantropijas stāsti" ("Stories of philanthropy"). This is a dedication to patrons whose donations to the University of Latvia have contributed to growth of the Latvian state, society, economy and culture.
166 pages of "Filantropijas stāsti" summarize the most significant facts about the greatest and most generous patrons of the University of Latvia and the University of Latvia Foundation, who have provided selfless financial, material and informative support to education, science, art, sports and culture since establishment of the University of Latvia. The festive edition has been supplemented with illustrations created by the artist Didzis Upens and released by the University of Latvia Press.
The publication was nominated for the book art competition "Zelta ābele 2019" ("Golden Apple Tree 2019").
