Development of doctoral programme in anthropology at the UL Faculty of Humanities
The UL Department of Anthropology Studies in cooperation with Tallinn University, Vytautas Magnus University in Kaunas and Riga Stradiņš University has obtained funding from the Wenner-Gren Foundation for the development of a regional doctoral programme in anthropology in Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia.
The Wenner-Gren Foundation is the largest private foundation whose work is dedicated to the development of anthropology worldwide, funding research, networking activities, and providing support for the institutional development of anthropology.
The development of the doctoral programme will strengthen the field of anthropology in the Baltic states and create a competitive regional programme with a specialization in public anthropology, sensory anthropology, as well as research of identity, migration and cultural processes.
Total costs in 5-year period: USD 125 000.
