Development of standard procedures for molecular characterization of paediatric malignancies
The aim of the initiative is to increase the competence of health care professionals and scientists in the genetics of paediatric malignancies and to create a perspective molecular research-based precision medicine approach in the clinical practice of paediatric oncology in Latvia.
The project will develop the first precision medicine platform based on full genome analysis (large-scale parallel sequencing), which will improve traditional diagnostic opportunities and promote the choice of the optimal treatment strategy, thus reducing the undesirable side effects of treatment in paediatric malignancies.
The results obtained during the project implementation will potentially promote the development and sustainability of precision medicine in paediatric oncology in Latvia.
