This year's 12th grade graduates of Valka Jānis Cimze Gymnasium will be the first to have the opportunity to apply for the Valka County Excellence Scholarship when starting their studies in the next academic year. Such an opportunity is provided by the Cooperation Agreement concluded between Valka County Council and the University of Latvia Foundation in March this year.
The scholarship is launched with the aim to expand the opportunities for high-quality higher education for outstanding young people of Valka region. Valka region evaluates the potential of its young people and wants to promote successful further education by financially helping one young person to successfully start their studies.
One scholarship in the amount of 1,500 EUR will be awarded per academic year, paid within 10 months. Any graduate of Valka Jānis Cimze Gymnasium who starts studies at the university in the current year and whose average grade in the certificate of general secondary education reaches 7.5 points will be able to apply for the scholarship.
The scholarship is administered by the University of Latvia Foundation. You will be able to apply for the scholarship from August 2, 2021 to September 5, 2021.
